Farm Philosophy
As young, first-generation farmers, we hope to preserve knowledge from our veteran farmers and to reimagine the viability of family farms in a modern context. We recognize a deep and pressing need for young farmers to embrace the hard work of caring for the earth and returning people to healthy, pure food from a perspective of optimism, practicality, integrity and humor. We raise our produce organically and practice low-till, no-spray in order to build the best possible soil for the most nutrient-dense vegetables and fruits.
Furthermore, we are committed to racial justice and pursuing a more equitable food system for all. Anne is serving her second term as President of the NWI Food Council whose mission is to cultivate a just, thriving and regenerative food system for all in Northwest Indiana. We believe we all do better when we all do better and a new food system is necessary to achieve farm viability, healthy communities and racial equity. We are completely committed to continuous self-education and anti-racism work; to actively building collective power in the food system through partnerships that honor both farm viability and urgent, pressing need for affordable, fresh food.
