Our Story

We were both born and raised in Munster, Indiana where we have strong roots to our greater NW Indiana community. When we met 12 years ago, we would never have imagined we would one day own and operate a farm. But as time and our lives evolved together, we both fell in love with the hard work of being stewards of the land and being resilient and self-reliant with our food.

We spent years saving and searching for land (and starting a family), and one fateful day, we found a beautiful property in Crown Point, Indiana on auction. We still find it hard to believe we now take care of 11 acres of rolling hills, woodlands, wetlands and slowly expanding plots of vegetables, fruits and nuts.

As we enter our 4th year of farming in 2021, we like so many others are trying to balance raising young children with work life. But we wouldn’t have it any other way—farming is our calling. Ben is a union electrician by trade, and his long hours are what keep the lights on while Anne manages the farm and runs a non-profit that supports the local food movement. We both hope to one day be able to farm full time and bring awareness around regenerative farming and local food to our community.

We have two children, Teagan (9) and Barrett (2) who you’ll often find running amuck around the farm. And have made countless friends through our CSA, at farmers markets and farm stand.
